Local, national and international golfers will roll out drums and clink glasses in celebration of the country’s independence anniversary in Delta State.
“The high-profile Independence Kitty is to commemorate the birth of a sovereign Nigerian State, strengthen the sense of unity among Nigerians and foreigners as well as celebrate resilience and national history” a statement by the Chairman of Canaan Land Golf Course and Country Club, Hon Felix Aganbi, said Thursday afternoon.
The statement said the friendly Independence Kitty would take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026 in Koko, headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area.
“World-class golfers and amateurs will compete for Canaan Land Golf Course and Country Club Independence Kitty large purse”
The Independence Kitty, according to Aganbi, will enhance Nigeria’s reputation, boost sports tourism, develop local talent, strengthen the overall golf ecosystem and expand commercial activities.
“The Independence Kitty will be staged at Canaan Land Golf Course, a venue with an international pedigree and a cherished tournament design. Tee off: 10:00AM”
The statement further emphasized a healthy lifestyle, friendship and fraternity among communities.
“Come and enjoy the Koko splendor. Lunch and drinks will be served after the Independence Day Kitty” the statement added.
